Markquart acquires GM franchise from Vance
Ken Vance Motors will no longer offer any new General Motors products, effective Feb. 2, 2010. The Buick and GM franchises for the Eau Clairea area have been purchased by Markquart Motors. Ken Vance Motors will continue to offer Honda, Volkswagen, Audi, Hyundai and pre-owned vehicles.
According to a joint news release from Markquart Motors Owner Dave Markquart and Ken Vance Motors Owner Ken Vance, "current owners of one or more of then 17,000 GM vehicles purchased at Ken Vance Motors may rest assured that they will continue to receive the same service and repair they have come to expect".
Markquart Motors will continue to offer Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and used vehicle sales and service from their Business 53 location. This change will not affect sales or service at the Markquart Toyota-Scion dealership on West Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire.
However, the Markquart family has acquired a large tract of land along Commercial Boulevard in the Village of Lake Hallie as the future location of the Markquart Toyota dealership.
The Village of Lake Hallie Board met in closed session just before Christmas and is attempting to finalize a development agreement with LDJLLC, a partnership consisting of Lee Markquart and his two sons, Dave and John.
"We don't have a timeline yet because it is still in the early stages," said Markquart Marketing Director Lee Heike. TBL
