One parcel sold in River Prairie, another is close

TBL has learned that the Altoona City Council last week approved the sale of a one-acre parcel in the northwest quadrant of its River Prairie development and is negotiating the details on the sale of another nearby parcel.
According to Dean Larsen of Acquisition Realty & Development, who represented the City of Altoona in the land sale, the city has an accepted offer on a parcel located just west of the future Kwik Trip gas/convenience store. The other parcel, about 1.25 acres in size, is located on the other side of the proposed Kwik Trip site.
"Arrowhead Properties, LLC, a division of Royal Construction, will be involved in building a 10,000-square-foot retail center. We're looking at both national and local retailers for that building. We are finalizing negotiations with the same party on the other lot near Kwik Trip," said Larsen, who added that the parcel located to the east of Kwik Trip that is still being negotiated would likely include development of a mixed-use complex.
"We would welcome both business entities and retail in the other 10,000-square-foot building," he said.
The rest of the northwest quadrant of River Prairie will include the aforementioned Kwik Trip, a WESTconsin Credit Union branch office, a Staybridge Suites extended stay hotel and an office building for Bernicke & Associates.
"We still have some more work to do to sell the remaining parcels," said Larsen. TBL
