Larsons to build new Staybridge Suites
Posted: February 13, 2015
Larson Companies announced this week that it will develop a 120-room Staybridge Suites on a 2.69-acre parcel within the Northwest Quadrant of the River Prairie Development in Altoona.
"This was Altoona's first choice. They have been enthusiastic about the extended stay concept, with their heavy medical component and other plans they have for the Northwest Quadrant," said Larson Companies President Tom Larson, who added, "We feel we've identified a real need for this concept in the Chippewa Valley."
The 90,000-square-foot Staybridge Suites is still in the design phase, according to Larson. The brand features studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites each equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher. The hotel also offers a swimming pool, a whirlpool, a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, a 24-hour convenience store, free wireless, a business center, a fitness room and laundry services.
"This is an upscale extended stay brand. We will be developing at least 120 rooms, but there could be as many as 135 rooms when the design is finalized," said Larson, who added that the Staybridge Suites is served and supported by the worldwide Holiday Inn reservation system.
Staybridge Suites is owned by a group led by Larson Companies, under a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group. The project ownership includes Richard Larson, Tim Pabich, Tim Olson and Tom Toy. The property will be built by Royal Construction and managed by Larson Companies.
The first Staybridge Suites opened in 1998. There are not more than 200 properties in North America. The hotel brand is ideal for travelers seeking a residential-style hotel that is geared towards business, relocation and vacations.
Larson Companies is affiliated with brands such as Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Clarion, TGI Fridays, Green Mill Restaurant and Bar and Johnny's Italian Steakhouse, to name a few. Over the years, Larson Companies has successfully operated more than 20 different hospitality and retail concepts. TBL
