Health Insurance Marketplace Website

When I signed up for ObamaCare in early 2015, I did not know at the time that I would need the Affordable Care Act. However, after breaking my ankle two weeks before Thanksgiving last year, I quickly realized how pleased I was to have health insurance. There would have been no way for me to pay the $40,000 in medical bills. Fortunately, I only had to pay about $2,000.
But with tax season fast approaching, I have been frustrated by the Health Insurance Marketplace website. Because I cannot access the site with a temporary password and have the inability to change my password to something that I can remember, I have had to make multiple phone calls to Security Health Plan, my insurance provider, to send me the 1095-A tax form that I need to complete my tax returns.
Earlier this week, I made my third phone call to have the form mailed to me via the U.S. Postal Service. On March 10th, I called the first time to have the 1095-A form mailed to me. I was told when I called on April 1st that I should have received the form on March 18th. However, I never received the form.
This time, though, I was able to have the Security Health Plan representative who took my phone call (after I was on hold for 30 minutes) read off the information I needed to give to my accountant. The information included my name, social security number, the amount of tax credits I received in 2015, and some other figures pertinent to my health insurance plan. So I dropped off the information I received over the phone to my accountant in hopes that he can determine how much I will receive this year on my federal and state tax returns.
Meanwhile, I am still waiting to receive my 1095-A form that I need for the Health Insurance Marketplace.
RANDOM THOUGHT: I watched the final episode of American Idol last week. Although I thought the judges would have awarded the top prize to a different individual, the public voted for the guy that I thought should have come in second place. The talent contest was very popular for a number of years, but I realized that I must have missed a few of the years of the show because when various performers made appearances on the final show, I didn't know half of their names.
