TBL has learned that Steve and Scott Vande Berg, who have owned both the Holiday Manor Inn & Conference Center in Menomonie since 1970 and the adjacent AmericInn Motel since it was constructed in June, 1996, have sold the the businesses to two different, but related, corporations, effective June 6th.
Ambika Corp. is purchasing the 100-room Holiday Manor Inn and Krish Corp. is acquiring the 55-room AmericInn. The two corporations are owned by Nick Patel of Fergus Falls,MN, and his brother and cousin, who operate hotels in Bartlett,IL, and New Bright-on,MN, respectively.
"The Holiday Manor has been in the family since it opened in May, 1963,"said Steve Vande Berg, who added, "I don't plan to retire, so I will be looking to do some hotel consulting or some part-time teaching in the hospitality program at UW-Stout."
Vande Berg said the new owners will likely retain many, if not all, of the current 45 employees.TBL
