Longform, LLC, an ownership group which consists of five individuals, received site plan approval this week from the City of Eau Claire Plan Commission. In addition, the entity has also received a positive recommendation from the city's License Review Committee to obtain a beer and liquor license for the former Green Tree Inn & Suites at 516 Galloway Street.
"We plan to open a boutique hotel with 30 rooms. There will be a small bar and restaurant area for hotel guests and the community. We plan to open this spring once the renovations are complete," said Ben Richgruber, one of the owners of the lodging property.
"We hope to host three to four annual events and have an outdoor patio as well. We may have live music or art fairs on the property," said Richgruber, who is also the executive director of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center.
The value of the renovation project has not been determined, nor has the number of employees for the hotel been identified.
