Dog training center to expand in Lake Hallie

The Ann Braue Canine Training Center, which has been located in Banbury Place in Eau Claire since 1993, will be relocating and expanding its dog agility training facility to a 10,500-square-foot building located in the Village of Lake Hallie.
According to Braue, who purchased the former "spec" building from Concrete Land Company with business partner Mary Tichenor, the new location will allow her world-renowned agility training center to flourish.
"I have, in the last few years, gained some notoriety for competing in the AKC (American Kennel Club) World Agility Championships. I have competed in Europe and will soon be going to Switzerland again to compete," said Braue, who added that the new building will also host seminars and could potentially lure AKC-related shows.
"There is the potential to bring in more people to the area either through the seminars, private lessons or dog shows," said Braue.
In addition, Braue said the newly-acquired facility will offer upscale amenities indoors and an outdoor area for agility training.
"We will essentially be doubling our indoor space and the surface will be much more conducive for the high-level agility dogs. We plan to build a world-class facility with the obstacle courses," she said.
Interior remodeling of the facility is expected to be completed by the end of September. Bade Construction is the general contractor.
Dick Erickson of Richwell Real Estate represented the seller while Kathryn Bade of Edina Realty represented the buyers.
