TBL has learned that Colfax Health & Rehabilitation, 1011 University Ave., Colfax, will be developing a 60,000-square-foot, multi-use skilled nursing facility to the east side of Highway 40, on the south side of the Village of Colfax.
According to Colfax Health & Rehab Administrator Jill Gengler, the $11 million project is scheduled for completion in July, 2013.
"There will be three levels of care at the new facility. First, we will have 40 skilled nursing beds. We will also have 16 CBRF (Community-Based Residential Facility) assisted living beds, as well as 12 residential assisted living apartments," said Gengler, who added that the business has about 100 employees.
Mayo Clinic, which leases clinic space in the existing rehabilitation center, will continue to occupy its current space. Gengler said Colfax Health may lease out the remaining portion that it currently occupies to other tenants.
Market & Johnson is the general contractor for the project. Architectural Design Group is the architect. Financiing was provided through the United States Agriculture Department's Rural Development Program and AgStar.TBL
