Intel Corp. signs lease for former SitePro facility

TBL has learned that Santa Clara,CA-based Intel Corp.has signed a lease to relocate a division of Cray Inc. that it purchased last year to 1825 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire. The 40,000-square-foot building, which was most recently occupied by SitePro, is currently owned by RCU.
"They have a three-year lease with a few options. There will be some remodeling and Intel will occupy a good portion of the building," said Jamie Radabaugh of Commonweal Development, who represented RCU in the lease negotiations.
In Aprl, 2012, Intel Corp. agreed to purchase certain networking assets from supercomputer maker Cray Inc. for $140 million in cash, giving the computer chip company a boost in the high-performance computing market and strengthening Cray's balance sheet.
At the time of the announcement, up to 74 Cray employees were expected to join Intel, which also acquired interconnect technology and related intellectual property from Cray.
An Intel Corp. spokesperson was not available to comment prior to TBL's deadline.
Intel Corp. reported revenue of $53.3 billion and net income of $11.0 billlion for fiscal year 2012. Founded in 1968, Intel employs more than 82,500 employees worldwide, 55 percent of which live in the United States.
