Bloomington,MN-based Lupient Auto Group, parent company of Bothun Automotive in Eau Claire, has sold its Buick, Lincoln and Mercury lines of new vehicles to two other area dealerships.
"We sought out the Lincoln-Mercury lines and purchased the franchises from Lupient," said Rick Mohr, who has owned and operated Eau Claire Ford since January, 2004. "We've actually sold more Lincoln vehicles this month than Bothun sold in the last two months combined...so I think this upscale line of Ford vehicles suits our operation well," he said.
Ken Vance Motors acquired the Buick line from Bothun Automotive. Bothun continues to sell new Chryslers, Dodges and Nissans, in addition to its used vehicle division. Bothun will continue to have its Chrysler and Dodge showroom at 3100 Mall Drive and sell its Nissan lines at its facility at 3214 Mall Drive. The company intends to move its ABRA Auto Body & Glass division to the back of the building on Mall Drive that used to be a service department for the Lincoln-Mercury vehicles.
