Global Finishing Solutions to receive tax credits

The State of Wisconsin late last week announced that Osseo,WI-based Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) will receive up to $600,000 in economic development tax credits to construct and equip an addition to its facility that will create 111 jobs. the project represents a total investment of $10 million as it moves the positions from its production plant in Monterrey,Mexico.

GFS, which was founded in 1978 as JBI, will add approximately 60,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space to its Osseo facility. The company makes paint booths and finishing systems for the automotive, aerospace, trucking and industrial industries.

"Global Finishing Solutions is excited about the expansion of our Osseo headquarters and our commitment to create so many quality jobs over the next three years," said GFS President Rick Binder, who added, "After moving an acquired second manufacturing facility from Canada to Mexico several years ago, we have determined that the consolidation of this manfacturing capacity in Osseo will allow us to provide better customer service, higher quality control and increased responsiveness to the markets we serve".

GFS currently has about 270 employees at its Osseo plant. The company will retain its offices in Canada and Mexico that specialize in sales, engineering and marketing.

"I appreciate the company's commitment to Wisconsin and I'm pleased the state was able to play a role in moving this project forward," said Governor Scott Walker. TBL
