Oakleaf Medical to develop new surgery center

The City of Eau Claire Plan Commission recently approved a site plan to Oakleaf Surgial Center, part of the Oakleaf Medical Network, for construction of a 64,000-square-foot addition to its medical facility located at 3802 W. Oakwood Mall Drive.

The expansion, which will replace the existing surgical hospital, will be developed to the southwest of the current center.

"The steering committee is still working on the budget, so we don't have an estimated value yet...and the construction schedule is being reviewed by the state," said Oakleaf Center Spokesperson Erma Radke.

Oakleaf Surgical Hospital, which was established in 2001 by a group of independent physicians, now has 60 surgeons providing elective procedures in 15 specialty areas.
