Dawes Crane Rental to relocate, expand

TBL has learned that the parent company of Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, 8360 Highway 178, Chippewa Falls, has acquired a 12.7 acre parcel of land along Highway 12 in Elk Mound to move and expand its local facilities.

Cleveland,OH-based All Erection & Crane Rental purchased the land and 10,000-square-foot building that was most recently occupied by Ferrellgas. The building has been vacant for about the past three years.

"We are hoping to be in our new location by July, but it could be earlier depending on how the remodeling goes," said Dawes Branch Manager Mike School, who added that the expanded location will allow the company to hire more mechanics and heavy equipment operators as well as expand into the Minnesota market.

Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, which presently has 10 employees, specializes in renting, selling and servicing cranes, lift equipment and other specialty equipment to customers within about a 150-mile radius of Eau Claire.

Todd Schultz and Ned Donnellan of Donnellan Real Estate handled the land sale agreement.
