TBL has learned that Erv Smith Services Inc. has purchased the former Rockwell Automation building at 1925 Truax Blvd., Eau Claire, from West Wisconsin Properties LLC in Eau Claire. The deal is expected to close today (June 30th).
According to Erv Smith Services President Noel Smith, the acquisition of the 90,000-square-foot facility will allow for the expansion of some of the parent company's fastest growing divisions.
"We have our residential division, our commercial services division, Hearth Shoppe LLC, which makes fireplaces...Spiral Services LLC, which makes spiral pipes and fittings and NLOC Innovations LLC, which manufactures and distributes paint booth systems. We were just running out of room as the company expands," said Smith.
Spiral Services LLC, NLOC Innovations LLC and the Commercial heating and cooling division will move into the newly-acquired building later this summer, according to Smith. Hearth Shoppe LLC and the residential service division will remain at its current location at 1225 Truax Boulevard. Smith said the relocation of the other divisions will result in a more customer-friendly environment for walk-in customers.
Once the relocation is complete, Smith said NLOC Innovations will be able to expand immediately.
"We intend to expand into more types of manufacturing with NLOC. We have been working for almost two years to design a machine that will allow us to be more productive," said Smith, who founded NLOC in 2004.
Erv Smith Services Inc., which was established in 1964, has 57 employees. Smith said he will be adding to the employee roster once the move is completed.
Wayne Peters of Peters Real Estate & Development represented the buyer and seller in the deal.
