CVTC to expand its welding laboratory
The City of Eau Claire Plan Commission recently approved a site plan for the Chippewa Valley Technical College to develop a 10,500-square-foot addition to its existing 3,000-square-foot welding lab at the school's Gateway Campus at 2320 Alpine Road.
"We have a one year program now, but the purpose is to provide a two year program. We have had a number of area manufacturers who are telling us that their businesses are coming back strong and they need more higher-skilled workers," said CVTC Director of Marketing and Community Relations Doug Olson, who added that the $1.5 million addition is expected to be completed for the upcoming fall semester.
