Kwik Trip to build store near Eau Claire Days Inn

TBL has learned that LaCrosse-based Kwik Trip Stores Inc. will be demolishing the restaurant, bar and banquet rooms in the Days Inn (formerly the Best Western Midway Motor Lodge), 2851 Hendrickson Dr., Eau Claire, to develop a gas station and convenience store by the end of this year.

The 1.5 acre parcel is being purchased from Mitesh Shah, president of Alliance Investments. The deal is expected to close August 1, 2007. The issue will be discussed at the City of Eau Claire Plan Commission meeting on July 15th.

According to Dean Larsen of Acquisition Realty & Development, who handled the transaction on behalf of Kwik Trip, demolition is scheduled to begin in late July.

Kwik Trip Stores Inc. Chief Financial Officer Scott Teigen said the 5,300-square-foot facility will feature a car wash.TBL
