Local developer acquires two retail buildings
TBL has learned that, through two different partnerships, Dean Larsen of Acquisition Realty & Development in Eau Claire has completed the purchase of the former Leath Furniture building at 901 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, and the existing Gander Mountain retail store at 4045 Commonwealth Ave., Eau Claire.
The nearly 40,000-square-foot former Leath Furniture facility, which was vacated earlier this month, was purchased by Larsco, LLC, from B.J. Farmer and Dave Bugher.
"We have had discussions with two or three potential users, but we don't have any pending leases yet," said Larsen, who added that the building is ideal for either retail or health care users.
The 31,600-square-foot Gander Mountain building is to be vacated by May, 2008, as the retail operation moves into an expanded facility under construction on a parcel located south of Interstate 94 and to the east of Highway 53.
"Gander Mountain's lease is not up until the summer of 2008, so we will market the building to other retailers who may be interested in coming to Eau Claire," said Larsen, who said Larmun Properties, LLP, purchased the building and four acres of land from Charles Heath of Verona,WI. TBL
