Haselwander Companies Inc. has broken ground on a new 90-unit Fairfield Inn & Suites on the northeast side of Eau Claire in the Princeton Crossing development at the interchange of the Highway 53 Freeway and the North Crossing. Construction officially began this week.
"Our plan is to have the building erected, enclosed and outside grading completed by November 1, 2015. We have confidence that the new hotel will be open for business by April, 2016," said Haselwander Companies Vice President of Sales and Marketing Greg Haselwander, who added that Hoeft Builders is the general contractor for the project.
The site of the new hotel, Princeton Crossing, is a 26-acre commercial development which is also home to a new Kwik Trip gas/convenience store. Additional property is currently being marketed for further highway commercial projects, restaurants and office park development.
"We're looking at a couple of different restaurants right now. We are also looking at a retail center close to the Kwik Trip store. We envision a corporate office setting along with a professional office building that could include chiropractors, dentists, etc.," said Haselwander.
The new Fairfield Inn & Suites will include 90 guest rooms as well as conference facilities, a pool, patio, fitness center and a breakfast area. It is estimated that the hotel will employ 40 upon completion.
Haselwander Companies also owns the AmericInn & Suites on Eau Claire's west side as well as Haselwander Real Estate, Haselwander Homes and Haselwander Commercial. The organization also owns the Princeton Valley Golf Course and employs 43 people throughout its companies. TBL
