British firm acquires Toy's Scrap & Salvage

Manchester,United Kingdom-based European Metal Recycling's division Northern Metal Recycling, LLC, recently acquired the assets of Toy's Scrap & Salvage, 8010 Olson Dr., Eau Claire, from Tom Toy.

"The name will remain the same. The company really wanted to gain market share in scrap metal...and they acquired my Eau Claire and Rice Lake facilities," said Toy, who took ownership of the business about 10 years ago. Tom's father, Reed Toy, started the business in 1958.

European Metal Recycling is the largest privately-owned recycling firm in the world and the second largest among its peers in the industry.

Toy's Scrap & Salvage scraps various grades of steel and employs about 60 people. TBL
