Donald Trump Running for President
Posted: July 24, 2015
I think Donald Trump, who recently threw his hat into the ring to become the Republican nominee to become president, is trying to see how many people he can insult in the shortest amount of time.
First, he insulted Mexicans as being drug dealers and criminals. Last week, Trump was able to irritate every war veteran after he told a group in Iowa that John McCain is "not a war hero". The Donald apparently believes that McCain, who was a Navy fighter pilot that got shot down in Vietnam and was a prisoner of war for more than two years, is not a "war hero" because he got captured.
Really? The worst part of this whole mess is that Donald Trump is actually leading some of the early polls to see which one of the 16 Republican presidential nominees is actually gaining some traction.
The Donald is nothing more than a blow-hard. It seems hard to believe that people would actually vote for this guy.
In his defense, Trump wrote an editorial in this past Monday's USA Today. He claims that he has supported veterans throughout his career and that he served as co-chairman of the New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission and helped get the facility built. He says he will do a better job of building the most modern veterans' hospitals and that he will fight for veterans.
Many of those who I talk to say they want a businessman in our nation's highest office. Well, what many of those same people don't know is that Donald Trump has filed for bankruptcy four times. Actually, he didn't personally file, since he knows how to play the system. His corporations have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy - four times.
In 1991, Trump's Taj Majal located in Atlantic City, NJ, was in debt for millions of dollars. So, naturally, Trump filed for bankruptcy. In 1992, Trump filed for bankruptcy on his Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City. Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts filed for bankruptcy in 2004; and in 2009, Trump Entertainment Resorts filed after he missed a large bond interest payment.
So be careful what you wish for. The "businessman" Donald Trump may not be all he's cracked up to be. In fact, I think he has cracked up.
