Posted: March 15, 2013
Clubs Choice Fundraising, a brand division of Choice Products USA, announced the opening of a cookie dough manufacturing operation at W2628 Highway 37, Eau Claire. The company is leasing a 13,000-square-foot building from Huntsinger Farms that was previously occupied by Dairyland Delights.
Choice Products USA, 3421 Truax Blvd., Eau Claire, is nationally recognized for its quality food and gift item products which are sold to raise funds for schools and nonprofit groups. The new cookie dough line will initially create 10 jobs, growing to around 30 over the next two years.
According to Choice Products USA Chief Executive Officer Richard McHugh, the decision to open the cookie dough line in Eau Claire was based on the quality of the labor force and the business cost savings by being near the firm's existing facility.
"Choice Products is a big believer in Wisconsin and we appreciate the support we have received in the past from the City of Eau Claire," said McHugh, who added that the company received approval for a $250,000 loan from the Regional Business Fund to help with start-up costs associated with the new cookie dough line.
Choice Products USA, which was established in 1984, employs more than 350 people during its peak season. McHugh said he expects Clubs Choice Fundraising to begin production in May, 2013. Choice Producs USA Vice President Glenn McHugh said the company plans to manufacture two million boxes of cookie dough by the end of its second year of operation. TBL
